ARTIST BIO
Tate Wittenberg has worked in the film and entertainment industry in Los Angeles for 20 years before moving back to Tulsa. He is now directing and producing the documentary Raisin’ Cain: The History of Cain’s Ballroom to be released in 2024 in conjunction with Cain’s Ballroom’s one-hundredth anniversary. Tate has worked for the past two years at the OKPOP Museum as a digital archivist assisting in archiving the special collections and in productions facilitating interviews.

Raisin’ Cain: The History of Cain’s Ballroom is a feature-length documentary chronicling the story of Tulsa’s timeless honky-tonk. This film is a cinematic journey through the years and incarnations of the building at 423 N. Main Street or Bob Wills Main Street. Now, simply known as Cain's Ballroom, the film explores 100 years of American music history from The Louvre to Cain’s Academy of Dancing to Bob Wills legendary broadcasts through the present day, and shines a light on why Cain’s is regarded as an American treasure.
